With the election Barack Obama, some people are taking a second look at affirmative action. After all, they say, if an African-American can become president, does the nation still need a government policy to address the effects of past discrimination?

Umm...NO!! and as it may seem odd coming from black a person, such as myself, I truly believe that Affirmative Acton needs to be redefined and reviewed before being passed through the house. We don't necessarily have this, here in Canada or the UK, and if so..it's not our priority...in Canada, Affirmative Action (I guess) is based on language, in ... Read morethe UK Affirmative Action (I guess) is based on religion. There are forms of Affirmative Action everywhere in this world, but just shown and practiced/acted in different ways. I guess wot I’m trying to say here is, (Brits and Cdns alike) are trying to figure out, is, where's the relevance in today's society (economy, education , healthcare, etc.)...everybody has the right to the same quality of life that each country has to offer, etc. and I think that's the way it should be in the US...but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen anytime soon!!
